NEW PUPPY CHECKLIST

Von Rivka Shepherds recommends that you schedule a veterinary visit within 48-72 hours from the time that you pick up your new puppy so that your veterinary can perform a health check. Von Rivka will provide you with your puppy's health records so that you can provide them to your veterinarian This will allow you the opportunity to create a relationship with your veterinarian and so that your lovely companion continues to grow healthy and strong.

Von Rivka recommends that you bring a leash or harness for your new family member. We recommend a collar size between 18"and 24". 

Even though traveling may upset your puppy's stomach, we recommend that you do have water and a small travel bowl so that he/she can drink during the trip. 

We recommend that you bring several toys which will make your new family member have a more enjoyable trip to his/her new home. Remember that these are still very young puppies (8 weeks or older) so we recommend that these toys are not too small to avoid the possibility of a choking hazard. 

Bring a crate - While many of our customers have brought a crate for their new furry family member, we KNOW that he/she will most likely end up on your lap as you provide him with tons of snuggles and love ❤️ 💖 💗 💕 but it may come handy. 

We encourage you to check your yard for hazardous items that could harm your new puppy. We also recommend that you go through your house and make sure that you puppy-proof your home. Remember that your furry friend is super curious and loves to explore! Things to look out for are chemicals, sharp objects, poisonous plants, items found in the garage, or even kids' toys.

We start our puppies with Diamond Puppy Food which we will send along with you for your trip.
